Award Winning Plastering
Award Winning Scottish Plastering
Kmac Plasterers is no run-of-the-mill plastering company. Kenny MacAllister started his 4-year modern apprenticeship in September 2008 in his father’s business (Bryan Mac Plasterers). He achieved an NVQ Level 2 and 3 and Level 7 SCQF. Showing star quality, he went on to win the following awards:
1st in the Regional Skill Build competition both in 2010 and 2011.
1st in the National Skill Build competition in 2011.
SBATC James Birnie award for craft excellence winner 2011.
CITB apprentice of the year 2013.
CITB 50th anniversary apprentice of the year award in 2014.
Inspired by his success, Kenny started his own business in 2012 and currently employs two plasterers: Aidan Friel and Marcus Macmillan.
Having built a strong reputation for all types of conventional plastering, Kenny was keen to broaden his skills and the strength of the business. Venetian Plastering is a relatively new technique and Kenny recognised its potential for his customers. He attended a Venetian training course in February 2017 at Stucco & Stucco in Wakefield, Leeds.
Keen to expand his knowledge Kenny attended a further training course in Milan in January 2018. Here, he was trained in more advanced Venetian plasterwork by some of the best artisans in the world. During this course he was taught the techniques and applications of new products such as liquid metal, metallic plasters and Calce Cruda. In addition, he learned how to apply stencils to the wall while using these products, which allows him to create any design or pattern.
Finally, Kenny was able to advance his abilities in blending multiple metallic plasters together to create beautiful colours and designs.
